Music on Hold
The portal allows users to choose their own hold music (if enabled by your system administrator). To add music click the 'Music on Hold' button in the navigation pane. Then, select the 'Add Music' button.
Then, select the audio file that you would like to upload to the system. The audio file must be a .wav or .mp3 and has a maximum size of 64MB.
Music on Hold Behaivor
Music on Hold linearly plays files, starting from the beginning of a track. When the track completes, it will go to the next track. If there is only one track available, it will repeat that track. If a user is put back on hold again, their hold music will resume where it left off. Files can be re-ordered by dragging and dropping the far-left icon on the main Music on Hold Page.
Volume for Music on Hold
Music on hold volume must be adjusted externally using software such as Audacity.
Using Commercial Music
Please only use Royalty Free and Copyright Free music to avoid legal penalties. We do not recommend or endorse the use of Copyrighted material for Music on Hold, without purchasing proper licensing.
The legal penalties for copyright infringement include payment of up to $150,000 and jail time. You may go here for a selection of Royalty Free music.
Streaming Music on Hold
Some clients, such as radio stations sometimes request their audio be played as music on hold. It is not possible to stream music on hold to the phone system. A stored file must be used for audio.
