AI In Action: 2026 TECH360 Conference Recap

How can organizations turn AI's potential into real business value without sacrificing the human insight and judgment that make the difference?
This question was at the center of the 2026 TECH360 conference: AI Beyond the Hype held October 14th at The Desmond Hotel in Malvern, Pennsylvania.
The Recent Communications team was proud to support the event as an Advocate Sponsor, bringing together business and technology leaders to explore the real-world opportunities, challenges, and impact of artificial intelligence.
TECH360 is presented by Innovative Technology Action Group (ITAG), an industry initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC), dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and technology advancement throughout the region.
From practical AI applications to the challenges of AI adoption, the conversations highlighted the importance of embracing new possibilities while keeping people, purpose, and workplace culture at the heart of innovation.

TECH360 by the Numbers
100+ attendees connecting across the regional business and technology community
14 speakers and panelists sharing diverse perspectives and expertise
8 educational sessions and panel discussions focused on AI and its impact
Countless conversations and connections
Moving from AI Potential to Practical Results
AI tools are becoming more accessible, but choosing a tool is only one part of successful adoption. Organizations also need to:
Identify the right problems to solve
Understand how new technology fits into existing workflows and
Determine whether their investment is delivering meaningful results
TECH360 opened with a keynote from Ben Avicolli, President of MyMethod AI, titled Why 90% of AI Initiatives Fail, and What's Actually Working. Drawing on real-world business examples, Ben explored why so many AI initiatives fail to deliver their expected ROI.
💡 Key Takeaway: Like any team member, AI needs clear expectations, the right support, and ongoing oversight to contribute meaningful results.

Keeping People, Expertise, and Judgment at the Center
AI can produce polished work quickly, but speed and presentation don't automatically translate into quality. Several TECH360 sessions explored how organizations can preserve the expertise and judgment that make work valuable.
In Three and a Half Things AI Revealed About Us: Standards, Mentorship, and What Good Looks Like, Jigar Desai examined how AI is changing the way businesses recognize and develop talent.
💡 Key Takeaway: As polished proposals, presentations, and analyses become easier to generate, leaders must continue to define quality, maintain meaningful standards, and help employees develop sound judgment.

In the session Human-Centered AI: Centered Around Whom? Neha Arnold and Ashley Emur explored how businesses can decide what to automate, what to augment, and who remains accountable for the results.
💡 Key Takeaway: Rather than adopting tools simply because they're available, organizations should consider employee needs, business priorities, and the training required to use AI effectively.

In Beyond the Prompt - How to Use AI Without Flattening Your Brand, Joe Weinlick, Chief Brand Strategist at Lehigh Mining & Navigation, shared real examples from branding, creative development, research, and production to show where AI genuinely adds value, where it can lead people astray, and how to keep human thinking at the center.
💡 Key Takeaway: Build a clear framework for using AI responsibly in ways that improve work without handing over voice, strategy, or decision-making.

The Human Skills That Make AI More Valuable
When AI can generate answers almost instantly, knowing which questions to ask becomes even more important. Teams still need to identify the right problems, determine which initiatives deserve attention, and explore perspectives beyond their immediate expertise.
In Soft Skills, Hard Impact: What Product and Portfolio Leaders Must Master in a World with AI, Jai Schniepp and Praveena Ram focused on three essential capabilities: critical thinking, prioritization, and curiosity.
💡 Key Takeaway: Successful AI adoption isn't just about teaching employees to use new tools. It's about helping them evaluate the output, make sound decisions, and recognize when human expertise needs to take the lead.
Responsible Innovation Requires Thoughtful Decisions
Alongside discussions about productivity and business value, TECH360 addressed the risks and responsibilities that come with AI adoption.
AI in Action: Navigating Legal Risk & Governance Across Industries brought together legal and business perspectives on issues such as data governance, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and organizational accountability. Suzanne Dicicco, Principal at AI Governance Advisors, LLC, led a panel of experts including Mattew Redding, Partner at Fox Rothschild, Andrew Silverman, Attorney at MacElree Harvey (an awesome client of Recent Communications 🤩), and Fred Wilf, Managing Partner of Wilfteck LLC.
💡 Key Takeaway: Establishing appropriate guidelines and oversight can help businesses pursue new opportunities while making more informed decisions about privacy, risk, and accountability.

The closing conference panel, From Hype to Impact: Driving Measurable ROI with AI, brought the discussion back to business outcomes.
Panelists Priyanka Gowda and Marc Umstead, moderated by Keith Aumiller, explored how organizations can align AI initiatives with business goals and measure their impact.
💡 Key Takeaway: Business leaders should start with a specific need, define what success looks like, and evaluate whether AI is the tool to deliver the expected value.

Looking Ahead
TECH360 offered a valuable opportunity to explore how organizations can approach AI with curiosity, practical thinking, and an understanding of the people affected by its implementation.
For businesses and nonprofit organizations, the content and conversations at the 2026 TECH360 Conference offered key insights and actionable concepts:
Start with a clear business need
Measure outcomes rather than relying on hype
Establish appropriate oversight and
Make sure the people using new tools have the support they need
ITAG's Mission & Leadership
Recent Communications' Managing Partner, Charlotte Conroy has been involved with ITAG for 10+ years and currently serves as Vice Chair and Programming Committee Lead.
“Emerging technologies such as AI move through a life cycle where expectations and actual capabilities move on different timelines. This period of uncertainty is what we often refer to as hype,” said ITAG Vice Chair and Programming Committee lead, Charlotte Conroy, Managing Partner at Recent Communications. “Now, businesses and organizations need to carefully consider not only their return-on-investment with respect to AI’s capabilities, but how these implementations affect employees and company culture.”
Beyond the educational sessions, TECH360 gave attendees, speakers, and sponsors a chance to build relationships, exchange ideas, and hear how others are navigating technological change.
These connections and conversations offer the opportunity to ask questions, share real-world experiences, and gain new perspectives.

AI innovation is moving quickly, but real value comes from putting it to work. At Recent Communications, we're proud to help businesses and nonprofits turn AI possibilities into practical solutions that improve communications, streamline workflows, and empower their teams.
